BOGUE Goat MILK SOAP Philosophy
Bogue Milk Soap creates all its handmade bath products with a simple philosophy. Commitment to make every product using the best ingredients available and is of superior quality. We use organic plant based oils, butters and herbs, obtaining whatever we can locally. Concurrently, with experience in the food industry and “farm to table” cuisine we bring that concept to BMS with “farm to bath” via sourcing as many ingredient grown or produced right here in the Ojai, California. Fresh, raw goat milk comes from local farms that have goats but are not dairy farms, as does lavender herbs and oils, and a variety of farms have supplied the Olive oil over the years.
It all started with our Organic Handmade Goat Milk Soap
We made the first Goat milk soap bars for Grandma Helen Bogue and her all handmade shop called Dos Manos in 1973. Subsequently, Helens Daughter Susan Bogue continued to make the soap and expand the ingredients and scope of products. Later, in 2009, the vintage style shaving soap kit with brush was quickly brought in by Whole Foods Market in California. Since then Bogue Milk Soap has expanded its Goat Milk Soap line into distinct categories and over 40 individual recipes.

Hence, all our bath, body and skincare selections are meticulously researched & developed. Conversely, before we create any of our other Green Bath & Beauty or the purpose built BESPOKE & WELLNESS products, we begin with a batch of our cold process, small-batch goat milk soap. In addition, every incarnation the products are crafted to be mindful & effective for an active & clean life. Goat milk, a natural emollient very close to your skins PH, has remarkable moisturizing qualities. Together these natural ingredients, our formula of oils, produces a long-lasting soap with creamy, luxurious lather not found in commercial soaps. Additionally, this results in a LONG LASTING bar soap that leaves no residue. There are many Skin Benefits of Goat Milk besides being rich in vitamins A, E, B6 & B12. It’s nourishing to the skin, with a high casein, fatty acids & proteins content. Easily absorbed while it hydrates dry skin. Farm to Bath
Explicitly, we have been using Essential oils only in all products, never synthetic fragrance oils. The aromatherapy benefits in Essential Oil are boundless, while the active ingredients can do wonders for the skin topically. Markedly, many essential oils contain Limonene, a2017 Study states the substance has analgesic (pain-relieving) and anti-inflammatory properties. Significantly, with local botanicals we Infused oils to incorporate these properties while controlling the strength and quality of the oils. In addition, we seek and finest clays to round out each bar. Clays like Bentonite, Rose Clay, Kaolin and Dead Sea clays to balance oils. Talk about Paleo! Since the stone age Clays have been used to clean and protect the skin. Furthermore, added to goat milk they maintain natural moisture balance, leaving skin supple and soft. Significantly, Goat Milk & Clays or diatomaceous earth remove dead skin cells. This boosts collagen production, contributing to firmer and more elastic skin.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Lastly, BMS Goat Milk Soap is strapped in minimal packaging using recycled paper labels. Boxed product packaging, shaving soap kits and other are kraft recycled cardboard. Moreover, we always purchase quality equipment for re-use when available. Finally, at Bogue Milk Soap will continue to strive to maintain and improve the quality of our products, and to do so with the smallest footprint possible.
